How We Work
Integrated Capital Strategies is a small, bespoke firm. Our unique experience and background in helping families strengthen their impact are the primary assets ICS brings to our limited set of deep engagements. We work to develop a personal relationship with each family principal and leader.
We partner with your existing team of tax, wealth and family office advisors to put their specialized expertise into the context of your impact goals. We also draw on partners and an extensive network in the impact industry as needed to supplement our strategy and governance expertise. For example:
When key staff hires are needed, we work with search firms that specialize in philanthropic leadership to develop a candidate profile, job description and lead a search for the right talent.
When a new donor-advised fund is determined to be the best vehicle, we have a database of DAF sponsors along with specific attributes (like fees, expertise, capabilities, timelines, etc.) to help narrow down the options, and can lead negotiations with the DAF around setup.
When a donor engages in a new grantmaking approach such as capacity building for grantee partners, or a new focus area, we have formal and informal networks of advisors (including FOX, P-150, Center for High Impact Philanthropy, etc.) that we tap for tools and lessons learned.
In short, we are a lean team that pulls in the best-in-class providers across multiple disciplines to support your specific needs, just when they are needed.
